Summer arrived at last, in mid September for the Disabled Golf Society’s latest event at Downshire in Berkshire. Many thanks to the club’s pro Wayne Owers for his expert advice on the driving range. We had an excellent turn out of regulars and 1st timers, the sun was shining brightly as the players headed for the first tee.
The winner of the 9 hole competition was newcomber Rob Armitage from High Wycombe with 13 stableford points, 2nd was Gina Collier from Northampton (11) and 3rd was Sue Robertson from Wokingham (10).
The 18 hole competition was won by another newcomber, Aynsley Doherty from Datchet (32 points), 2nd was Keith Dolman from Essex on countback (28) and 3rd was Lorraine White from Surrey (also 28).
Many thanks to Emma Evans all the staff and members at Downshire Golf Complex for their help and patience.
