We would like to thank all who attended and made it a memorable day; despite the weather the event was spectacular success. In the morning we all benefited from the great coaching of Greg Brodie, the head coach at Pine Ridge Golf Club, who saw us at the new golf academy (see enclosed). We all had our fair share of individual tuition, despite the workmen turning the power off half way through the morning, everyone came away with a better understanding of their own game and the desire to improve.

The Tuition was followed by a great lunch in the clubhouse, interspersed with friendly conversation and humour, as we all got to know each other and talked about the general needs of the disabled golfer.

After lunch we all ventured towards the course, in my case with severe trepidation, with our buggies and the excellent assistance from the local Frimley and Camberley “Lions” group led by Don Gilbert. We all had a taste of the excellent Pine Ridge course but then the rain came, and it a came with a vengeance. Accompanying the real deluge was thunder and lightening, which at this point, all of us had at least played a few holes.

We spent the final part of the day discussing how we could carry this event forward and to improve on a already successful day. This included Sue Richard, Phil Warren, WAMSAD, The Lions, Greg Brodie, Rob Moor, Disabled Golf Society and Pine Ridge. The aim is to make this as enjoyable and competitive event, as it had been on the day.
