On the 12th October 2012 Rhondda Golf Club plays host to the first Welsh Disabled Golfers Open Championship. After a long and wet season lets all pray for some good weather because Rhondda GC looks at its best during the early winter months. The golf club are the main sponsors for this amazing event by running the whole day for free, YES that’s what I said FREE. Rhondda golf club are known for being one of the most pro-active clubs around. James from Red Dragon Golf will also be offering to check the loft and lie of your clubs are correct and has kindly donated a Custom made club as a prize.
The format for the day is fairly simple with 12 tee times (four balls) at 8-10 minute intervals starting at 9:00 so if all participants could be so kind to arrive no later than 8:30. The club house will be open at 8:00 for coffee and breakfasts for anyone who wants them (small cost applied). A driving range is less than 200 yards away for anyone who wants to have a warm up. Once everyone has finished and are in the club house at approx 15:00 a FREE Buffet will be open for all involved followed by a prize giving and presentation of the winners trophy.
Mike Wallace will be doing a live scoring system on the projection screen situated in the club house, so make sure you do your cards properly because we don want to see anyone disqualified.
